Twinspire’s financial empowerment workshops are transformative learning experiences designed to equip foster youth and at-promise youth with critical financial literacy skills. These workshops are tailored to meet the unique needs of youth across different settings, including schools, Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Programs (STRTPs), and probation sites, ensuring accessibility and relevance for participants from diverse backgrounds.

IDENTITY: 

Exploring intersectionality, identity & privilege, and gender inclusivity

 

DIVERSITY: 

Embracing differences, unconscious bias, inclusive leadership, accessible spaces, and cultural competence

 

OPPRESSION:

Systemic oppression, microaggressions, race & class, intersectional oppression, and allyship & solidarity

JUSTICE:

Social justice foundations, human rights & universal dignity, and restorative justice

ACTION:

Community organizing, direct action, media literacy, youth activism, and policy & advocacy…

ECONOMIC DISPARITY:

Wealth inequity, financial justice, fair labor practices, and entrepreneurship for economic inclusion

Each workshop is designed to be interactive and engaging, using real-life scenarios, group activities, and lived-experience facilitators who resonate with the challenges participants face.

What do the social justice workshops focus on?

These workshops explore identity, inequality, community leadership, and systems of power, encouraging youth to think critically and become advocates for equity and change.

How often do social justice workshops happen?

Social justice workshops are typically held once a month or over a 4 to 6-week series, depending on the needs of the school or community site.

4. What will participants gain from attending?

Youth will build awareness, confidence, and communication skills to speak up, take action, and positively impact their schools, communities, and future careers.
